The piccolo is the smaller relative of the flute. It is exactly the same in all respects, notes and fingerings, but is a lot smaller than the flute and it has a higher pitch. Coming to Oboe, it looks very similar to the clarinet except for the fact that it has a double reed. The oboe is widely used in classical compositions. Here, Piccolo gives more melodious pleasant effect than Oboe, just for the reason it comes under the family to which Flute belongs. Oboe rules its way in many classical concerts. It serves as best classical instrument for many classical music lovers. Double reed is the only main difference when compared to clarinet when it comes to music effects produced between the both.
